Pulp

Pulp are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1978 by singer Jarvis Cocker while he was still at school.

After spending more than a decade building a cult following, the band achieved mainstream success during the Britpop era with albums such as ‘His ‘n’ Hers’ and ‘Different Class’.

Blending witty social commentary with art rock, indie pop and glam influences, Pulp distinguished themselves through Cocker’s observational lyrics exploring class, relationships and everyday British life. Hits including ‘Common People’, ‘Disco 2000’ and ‘Sorted for E’s & Wizz’ made them one of the defining British bands of the 1990s.

Following periods of hiatus, Pulp reunited for live performances in 2011 and again in 2022, before releasing their first studio album in almost 24 years, ‘More’, in 2025.
