Orlando Weeks studied illustration before pursuing music full-time and has continued to work as an illustrator alongside his recording career. Following the Maccabees' initial split, Weeks wrote and illustrated the children's book The Gritterman, accompanied by an original soundtrack narrated by Paul Whitehouse. In addition to his solo career, Weeks reunited with the Maccabees after the band's return was announced in 2024.

Orlando Weeks is an English singer-songwriter, illustrator and author best known as the co-founder and former frontman of indie rock band the Maccabees.

As the band’s lead vocalist and principal lyricist, Weeks helped shape one of Britain’s most acclaimed guitar bands of the 2000s and 2010s through albums including Colour It In, Wall of Arms, Given to the Wild and the UK No. 1 album Marks to Prove It. Following the band’s initial split in 2016, he embarked on a solo career, releasing the acclaimed albums A Quickening, Hop Up and LOJA, while also publishing the illustrated book The Gritterman.

Renowned for his introspective songwriting, distinctive voice and multidisciplinary creativity, Weeks has established himself as one of Britain’s most distinctive contemporary artists.
