More About Indie

Indie originally referred to artists, labels and creators working independently of major commercial companies. Today, it can also describe a distinctive style across music, film and other creative fields.
Indie is widely recognised as both a genre and a broader creative movement. While it has characteristic musical styles, the term also reflects an independent approach to producing and distributing art.
Indie traditionally refers to independent origins or a particular artistic ethos, while alternative is a broader category encompassing many non-mainstream styles. The two terms often overlap but are not synonymous.
